How Your Posture Makes a First Impression

You make your first impression on someone very fast – within just a few seconds of meeting them. It’s so much better to make a good first impression than to try and fix a bad one. This is especially important when job-seeking or meeting new people.

Most people don’t think about their posture when they’re with others, but your posture is one of the first things people see when they meet you for the first time. The way you hold yourself shows much more about you than you may realize – body language is a powerful thing. Good posture makes for a great impression.

Slouching is a super no-no. Slouching can make you look unprofessional, lacking certainty and like you simply don’t care about yourself or others. Whereas a person who stands, walks or sits up straight shows confidence, caring and competence.

So, who would you respect? The sloucher or the person who stands tall and moves with ease and grace?
